Okay, to be honest, I am pretty happy with this reality that this year Trinity is not holding a prom night.
Various reasons have supported my point of view :
1. Worry not about my prom dress
2. No potential dance partner
3. Yhay, can remain the nudity of my face
4. Those girls will have to cover their bodies
5. Save money on better spendings
On the other hand, it's a bit disheartening and saddening as I have never attended a prom in my life.
And what?! Before our exams, we will have two weeks off as study weeks. This year of my college life flies swiftly. Thank God for every season here. My belief is still constant - every season is a good season and Jesus is the Reason over all.
And hmm... lately, I have picked up a bunch of life lessons based on His word, revelations, and even friends' blogposts.
- Never compromise to a value that is lower than mine for I am called to shine Christ's light, not to reflect man's flaws / Matthew 5:16
- Where my weakness flows, there I find His bounty grace / 2 Corinthians 12:10
- I am not born to please you, you and you for I am not seeking approval of men, but of God; at times when I cool down and have a deep review, I realize that your opinions do not matter at all to me, so what if you don't like me? Waseh, you are not even my boss, so please don't act so, I am not here to see your shitty face, I don't even care / Galatians 1:10
- A sincere friendship is a true friendship. Close friends will have heart-to-heart talks; don't interrogate me whether I am one of your close friends or not because if you think we are close enough because we have been sincere and honest to each other or both of us regard each other as true friends, so are we; if not, okay bye bye; I have got a closest and mightiest Brother - His name is Jesus / Proverbs 17:17
- Shed tears only for people who worth your tears, everytime I drop a tear, God dries it off. / Psalm 34:18
- Don't build your security in humans' relationships but your relationship with Abba; for only He is faithful, He will never disappoint you whereas humans are just humans, they will, either unconsciously or consciously / 2 Thessalonians 3:3
And I totally support Chentel's and Bao Ying's notions of 'not to fit in to a social cycle that you do not belong to'.
